York Community Resource Centre

Location: 89 Avon Terrace, York WA 6302

The York Community Resource Centre is a not for profit, community managed organisation servicing the regional community of York.

York is situated 97 kms east of Perth and nestles in the rolling hills of the scenic Avon Valley.

Steeped in history with a settlement date of 1831, York is the oldest inland town and is heritage listed. With a proud history, the town traditionally known for its sheep and wheat has welcomed and embraced a thriving tourist trade drawn to the town due to the superb preservation of its historical buildings and proactive events coordination.

The York CRC delivers a range of services and programs which address the deliverables required from the State Government’s Royalties for Regions funding, which provides a large proportion of the Centre’s funding.

The CRC provides services ranging from training courses; fee for service activities such as photocopying, videoconferencing, office/function room hire, desktop publishing and internet access; produces several products including the local telephone directory, a community calendar and a monthly newsletter; and also provides enriching experiences to their community by way of hosting activities and events.

The CRC is an access point for government information including the ATO and Department of Veterans Affairs, Centrelink and Transwa road and rail ticketing.

With ample parking this location makes the CRC readily visible and accessible and allows the CRC to engage with community members and the visiting public.
