Wild Oats Festival
13, Mar 2010

Get ready to rock when Northam and the Avon Valley burst into life with the Wheatbelt’s most hyped music event: the Wild Oats Music Festival and Ute Muster. Aria Award winning Australian rock legends, ‘GRINSPOON’, have just been announced as the headline act. They will be accompanied by other Australian heavyweights ‘Jebediah’, local lads ‘The Novocaines’, ‘The Trigger Jackets’, and ‘The Sneaky Weasel Gang’. This is all happening at Bernard Park on Saturday 13th March, 2010.

Grinspoon have dominated the Australian rock scene for more than a decade and have recently returned to the Australian charts with their sixth studio album: ‘Six to Midnight’, which peaked at number six. The lead single ‘Comeback’ is currently experiencing high rotation on Australian radio. Grinspoon have enjoyed enormous success with all of their previous studio releases and the greatest hits compilation ‘Best in Show’ – all either charting in the Top 10 or reaching platinum status. Their 1997 debut ‘Guide to Better Living’ is a double platinum rock classic. With countless hit singles and Triple J anthems aplenty – none more recognisable than ‘Chemical Heart’ which took out second spot on the 2002 Hottest 100 – Grinspoon have a legion of fans around the country. The Grinspoon army will no doubt be Northam-bound come March 13.

Joining Grinspoon on the lineup are Fremantle stayers Jebediah. Jebediah are no stranger to the Australian music scene. Fronted by Kevin Mitchell (alias, Bob Evans), Jebediah have also enjoyed enormous success domestically releasing several classics at the end of the 1990s. Jebediah have an Australian rock classic of their own. 1997 debut ‘Slightly Odway’ also has double platinum status and features the hit single ‘Leaving Home’ which was voted tenth on the 1997 Hottest 100. Jebediah are currently recording a new album to be released in 2010.
