The Northam Race Club was established in 1863 and its home, the Northam Racecourse, is one of WA\\\'s premier winter racecourses.The racecourse itself is situated on Yilgarn Avenue on the eastern border of the town - . The Northam Racecourse hosts on average 25 race meetings per year through the months May to October.
The 2010 season commences on Sunday May 2 with the Northam Sprint. Signature events for the annual racing calendar include the Foundation Day Cup on June 7th, Ladies Day on September 19 and the XXXX Gold Northam Cup on October 24.
